The first thing the graduate schools looks for in your sop is how unique you are from others and why they should give admit to you in their university. The sop should be able to answer the following questions to the readers…
1. Why this student should be admitted in our university
2. Can we give him financial aid or not.
3. Whether he/she will serve our university and our country for a long term.
4. Can he stood up to the rigorous workload a graduate study can demand.
5. what are the leadership and other unique qualities he/she has
Try to answer these questions guys. answer this questions in a realistic manner. Dont just say that I have got leadership qualities. That is very abstract. Say that I was the captain of my college basketball team which taught me team spirit. discipline, commitment, hardwork etc. Supply adequate examples from your life.

Hi friends… waited eagerly so long for the universities list…. here it comes. based on the points you obtained( which u calculated based on my previous blog) u can narrow down your university list. But I strongly advice you to visit the university website interact with the faculty and seniors and decide on the universities. This list helps you in narrowing down your universities. Then how to proceed with the list? First see colleges in your range and above and below your range. Take two ambitious colleges from the list above your points. These should be your dream universities. Then choose three to four universities within your range. Then choose two universities below your profile with good funding scenario… Consider them as safe. Now look down for the university list. and wait for my next blog to proceed with the admissions..

The foremost thing when u r aspiring for higher studies is selecting the right universities. one should choose right universities matching their profile. There is no point in applying to high profile universities and to universities which doesn have good reputation. So my advice is to choose six to eight universities. Among this take two universities as ambitious two to four in your range and two low profile universities with good funding scenario which you consider safe. Then one more point in applying is apply as early as possible. Becoz most US universities give admits on first come first serve basis, there is no point in delaying your application process. K… But how can I select universities? How do I know these universities match my profile? For answering these questions we should do a profile evaluation which we discuss in our next blog… c u buddies…. all the best for admissions

Then concentrate on gaining research experience by doing some mini projects and all. Impress your guide and professors and get nice recos. Then draft your SOP very well.
