If you put up questions like i dont have that much amount in bank balance to show up. I am not from a wealthy family you have answers for all. Of course everybody going to do MS in US was not born with a silver spoon. Then how do they manage to show that much amount of bank balance. yes there are ways to it. But dont take any shortcut methods like showing fake account or showing bank balance fron small unrecognised banks.There are many scholarships avaliable. If you are looking aiming to do in harvard or stanford than Dr. manmohan singh scholarship is a good choice. We can discuss in detail about the scolarships later. So if you obtain a scholarship then you can always show it as a financial support. Then if you have any blood relations working in USA or any other country you can show them as a sponsor but not to a full extend.

The confidential financial statement form is very very important because it may be a decisive factor during the visa interview. If the visa interviewer puts up the question how would you able to manage your studies in US you should have substantial evidence to show to him convincing them. Any university will issue an I20 only if this form is submitted. This form contains basic information such as your name address and all. Apart from this it may require an acknowledgment signed by the sponsor(in most of the cases it is your parents.)  Then obtain a bank balance statement from the bank showing funds of around 40,000 dollars. It should be promptly signed and  sealed by the bank manager. Be careful to obtain the certificate from nationalized banks, which has good reputation.

First go to the university website and download the PDF from the university website. It will contain the  approximate fee structure for the entire academic year. It will also contain a approximate estimate of your living expenses there. So you have to show that you  have that much of amount in your bank balance. If you are planning to bring your spouse and children then you should show sufficient balance to cover their expenses also. For example if your annual tuition fees is 30,000 dollars and living expenses per month is 2000 dollars then you have to show around 50 000 dollars as your bank balance.Then watelse the form contains will see n my next blog.

If you think only your academics will get you an admit in an university…. then you are wrong. As Everyone knows US  education is quite costly and we have to supplement your graduate application with a financial   statement. With every application you will get a confidential financial statement which is necessary to complete your application. Some universities have separate forms for each applicant with applicants ID but most universities will have generalized forms in pdf format which you should download and fill it up and attach with the paper based materials. First thing that must be put up in the resume is the carrier objective. Mention  clearly why you want to pursue higher studies and what is your short term and long term objective. Then coming to your academics put your GPA ,GRE,TOEFL clearly No need to give individual split ups of the marks for each semester. Then coming to your co-curricular activities put everything that reflects your leadership qualities, Team spirit etc. Do not forget to include your participation in cultural events. Include the various papers and posters you have presented in a nut shell. Add a note about the symposium you have attended. Then finish with your declaration and put sign in the bottom.

Today let’s discuss about one of the most important documents - resume. There are many ways of formatting the resume but for university application process we should tailor make it for our purpose. First make your resume crisp and readable. Use readable fonts like times new roman or Arial. Now a day’s calbri also gained significance. Then put your carrier objective first then put your academic percentages GRE score TOEFL score also. Then highlight your academic achievements, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Separate every part of your resume from other parts. Your resume should consist of carrier objective, academic scores, co-curricular activities, projects done, responsibilities held, seminars and conferences attended, papers and posters presented. Whether you have wondered what these transcripts contains? Let me tell you these things in this blog. First they contain all your academic records. It contains records of all the subjects you have studied so far and the marks or grades you have scored in that subject. It also contains your academic achievements like merit scholarships and dean’s list scholarships. If you have come university first or topper in some subject you will get a mention in the transcripts. Some universities will give a outline about your characters but it was wirth in mentioning it in transcripts as reco letters and your SOP will give enough details about your background and all. Let us discuss some other important documents which one should make ready before applying to universities. First and foremost thing is your transcripts. Apply for transcripts from your college as early as possible. Usually college will charge some fees for transcripts. My college charged 300 for first copy and 100 each for subsequent copies. All denominations are in rupees only ofcourse! Each university requires two copies of transcripts  so if you are planning to apply for eight universities you get around 20 copies. If you are in the middle of your study you can get transcripts upto the semester you have studied. In that case the universities will give you conditional admit only and the admission is confirmed once you have sent the final transcripts. Take care the transcripts and sealed by your college.
